Purpose:

The project aims to decrease the number of persons who constitute the group of risk for the trafficking in human beings.

Description:

The Taylor”™s shop was opened in 2004, within the St. Maria Magdalena Social Centre in Rosu, Cahul District. 47 women, aged between 16 and 50, were trained in the domain of tailoring. Two courses, 6 month each, were organized each year. The first half of each course contains general information and the second one ”“ practical lessons ”“ the work at the sewing machines. Although the project is over, the taylor”™s shop still operates and is currently administrated by the parish.

Results:

  • 47 women from vulnerable families, who didn”™t have the possibility to finda job previously, were trained in a professional domain;
  • Of the 47 trained women, 12 of which suffer from hearing or speaking deficiencies, 35 were later employed.
